    37. Koehn Family

     
         Early records of this proud German family are few but those that were found are here recorded.  The American progenitor of the family was Harry L. Henry Koehn who came to our shores in 1853, bringing with him his bride of just a short time.

    HARRY L. HENRY KOEHN, born Aug. 25, 1823 Frakentine, Stavenhagen, A subject of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburgh Schwinn, Germany.  Naturalized an American Citizen on Tuesday, Sep. 13, 1859 in Onieda Co., NY, died May 27, 1903 Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI, married in Germany in 1853 to Georgenia Witt, born Jan. 13, 1824 in Strallitz, (Strelitz), Mecklenburg, Germany, died Jan. 26, 1915 Appleton, WI, the daughter of Louis Witt and Marie Scharchel.

      Name unknown, born 1856, died prior to i 1861 of Black Diphera
           (within 24 Hours of 1st. )
      SOPHIA JON MARIE. born Mar. 6, 1858
      Henry, born Feb. 15, 1860, died Pueblo, CO
      (Following born in Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI)
      William David "Kelly", born May 2, 1861, died Aug. 22, 1950 Manawa,
           New London, Waupaca Co., WI, Kelly lived most of his life with
           his sister Sophia, Never married but a great friend of children and
           the favorite of this author.
      Minnie Emma, born 1863, died at age 19 years, 2 months
      Elizabeth, no data available
      Katherine, died in infancy
      Edwin, born 1872, died Oct. 1904, married Katherine Madder
      Jeannette, born Jun. 6, 1886, married Harry E. Hines Jun. 17, 1907 a RR
           Engineer
       
    SOPHIA JON MARIE KOEHN, born Mar. 16, 1858 Utica, Onieda Co., NY, died Apr. 27, 1932 Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI, married Jan. 10, 1882, John Jacob Hauert III

         Sophia was confirmed into the Methodist Episcopal Church of Appleton on Mar. 21, 1874 (Outagamie Co., WI Death Records -Vol, 5, p. 250; Vol. 11, p. 154; Vol. 27, . p. 280)
