the Grandfather of the immigrant.

Sir Edmund Jennings of Ripon, married Margaret Burkham, the
daughter of Edward Burkham, Lord Mayor of London 1621-22.
Their son:
HON. EDMUND JENNINGS of "Ripon Hall", York Co. , England, born
1659, died Jun. 2, 1727 VA, married Frances Corbin, born 1671,
the daughter of Hon. Henry Corbin and Alice Eltonhead.

Edmund came to America at an early age and was Attorney
General of Virginia 1680-92, Member of the Kings Council
1701-1727, Secretary of State 1704-706 & 1720-1722, Acting
Governor June 1706-Aug. 23, 1710.

Elizabeth, born 1694, died Jan. 20, 1754, married Hon.
Robert Porteus of "New Bottle," Gloucester Co., VA (returned to
England)
Edmund, born 1700, died May 3, 1759, married Areana
Vanderheyden,
the daughter of Matthias Vanderheyden.
FRANCES JENNINGS, married Hon. Charles Grymes of "Moratico",
Richmond Co. , VA
