    25. Grymes Family

     
    LT. COLONEL THOMAS GRYMES, came from England after 1642 to Virginia.
    His son:

    MAJOR JOHN GRYMES, died 1708 at "Grymesby" on the Piankatank, Middlesex Co., VA,  married Alice Townley, daughter of Laurence Townley and Sarah Warner, born 1644, the sister of Augustine Warner II, born Jun. 3, 1642, died 1681, Speaker of the House of Brugess and member of the Royal Council, who married 1665 Mildred Reade, born 1640, died 1694, the daughter of Col, George Reade q.v. who came to Virginia in 1637.  Col. Reade was Secretary of the Colony and member of the Royal Council, married Elizabeth Martian, daughter of Nicolas Martian q.v.  Augustine Warner II, was the son of Augustine Warner I, born 1610, died 1674 and Burgess from England to Virginia in 1628, married Mary ?, born 1614, died 1662.

         Major John Grymes was a Justice in 1706 and Receiver General of Virginia,
    Their son:

    HON. CHARLES GRYMES, of "Moratico", Richmond Co. , VA, married Frances Jennings, the daughter of Gov. Edmund Jennings and Frances Corbin, daughter of Henry Corbin q.v.

    Children:
      SARAH
      Lucy, married Col. Henry Lee
    SARAH GRYMES, married ca. 1650 in VA, Robert Taliaferro, born 1626, died before Nov. 20, 1672
