No early records of this family have yet been found. The
earliest ancestor appears to have resided in Tennessee. One
Jesse Douglas and his wife Susanna Bevel are believed to have
had:
NATHANIEL LYNN DOUGLAS, born 1801 TN. died 1874 in Brushy Creek,
Ellis Co., TX, married in TN 1824, Mary Goodloe, born 1807
Rutherford Co., TN, died 1886 in Brushy Creek, TX, the daughter
of Henry Goodloe and Rebecca Wright.

They moved in 1848 in two ox wagons to Brushy Creek, (then
Navarao Co. Nathaniel helped organize Ellis Co. and built the
first Court House there in 1850 for a cost of $ 59.00. He sat
on the first Grand Jury in 1850 and in 1869 was the Tax
Collector and Assessor of Ellis Co.

still later, probably about 1880/82 to Arlington, AZ. Rebecca
had brothers named: Mathew, Mark, Luke, John & Enock.
