8. Bird Family

Thomas Bird and his wife Anne were known to be in Farmington, CT as early as 1623 and he was possibly the son of  a William Bird.  Other information is not known about their origin.

     Son, Joseph, of Hartford was admitted a freeman May '21, 1657 with his brother James.  Joseph had:  Elizabeth, Samuel, Nathaniel, Thomas, James, Joseph, Mary and Mindwell who was baptized in Farmington on Feb. 27, 1681. A name that remained in later generations of the Barney and Hoskins families.
 
     JAMES BIRD, born  1631, died 1708, a freeman of Hartford on May 21, 1657, married Mar. 31, 1657 Farmington, Hartford,  CT, Lydia Steele, born ca. 1628,  the daughter of John Steele and Rachelle Falcott.   Lydia is said to have lived to 1709.

HANNAH BIRD, married Sep. 21, 1699, John Dean, born Sep. 18, 1674, died Jul. 31, 1724 of Taunton, MA. Hannah died Jul. 15, 1748.
