Ulerick enlisted in Co. C, 36th. Regt. Wis. Volunteers on
Feb. 29, 1864 after having been raised by his Grandfather,
Robinson, following his father's death. His Civil War battles
included: Spottsylvania Court House; North Anna; Cold Harbor;
Hatches Run; Petersburg; and High Bridge. Wounded in the battle
of Cold Harbor he spent time in the hospitals at Washington and
Philadelphia and returned to duty on Feb. 23, 1865. He was
present when General Robert E. Lee surrendered and was finally
discharged on Jul. 25, 1865. Children:
