     618.  PHILANDER (7) - Reuben (6), John (5), Philip (4), Philip (3), Arthur 
(2), Arthur (1) — was born April 1, 1820, and married (1) in May, 1846, Emma 
Jane Woodward, who died of consumption Jan. 25, 1848, about 30 years of age.  
She was the only sister of Rev. O. M. Woodward, of the Genesee Conference of 
he M. E. Church. [Northern Christian Advocate, Feb. 9, 1848.] 
   They lived awhile at Hamilton, Ont. 
   He married (2) Mary Terrell, Sept. 4, 1853 at Warren, Huntington Co., In., 
daughter of Newcomb and Jane (Johnson) Terrell and lived awhile at 
Warren, removing to St. Joseph, Mich., in 1863, and ten months afterwards to 
Iowa and thence to Kansas.  In 1884 he was living at Chanute, Neosho Co., 
Kan.  She at the same time was living in Colorado.  He obtained a divorce in 1882.  
For some reason they separated, and she first went into the millinery business at 
Fort Scott, Kan.
   He was a saddler and harness maker. She died Oct. 7, 1887, Ashland, Clark 
Co., Kan and he died 1889 Enid, Grant Co., Ok.

     619.  SARAH (7) — Reuben (6), John (5). Philip (4), Philip (3), Arthur (2), 
Arthur (1) —  was born June 13, 1821. and married George Blake, a wheelwright, 
and moved to Decorah, Io., and in 1884 the family were living at Mankato, Minn. 
   It appears that this family went to the State of Vermont.

     620.  CHARLES HODGE (7) — Reuben (6), John (5), Philip (4). Philip (3), 
Arthur (2), Arthur (1 )— was born in Buffalo, N.Y., Dec. 16.1826, and married 
Ruth Miller. 
   He was a carpenter, and went to California about 1850 to 1855. but returned 
within two years and lived awhile in Will (?) Co., O., from which place he moved 
to Iowa.  n 1884 the family were living at Dixon, Carbon Co., Wy. Ter., with post 
office at Baggs.

Arthur (1) — was born June 24, 1840, and married October, 1865, Susan 
Shaugo, in Story Co., Ia.  They dwelt in the vicinity of Ames, Ia. 
   He may have been a soldier who belonged to Co. F, 20th Ind. Inf., who was 
mustered in October, 1862, and mustered out June 28, 1865.

died, and the following may have been the names of their

   Josiah Wheeler and wife brought up Sybil and Frank Aylsworth, or Ellsworth, 
at Frewsburg. Sybil married Edwin Durand, and lived in Frewsburg.  Their 
children took the name of Wheeler. They had a sister Mary.

     626.  FLOYD (7) — Benaiah (6), William (5), Philip (4), Philip (3), Arthur 
(2), Arthur (1)  — was born ——, and married Phebe Ann Drake, who was born 
about 1836, and who was a daughter of Abram and Annie (Crawford) Drake, of 
Bainbridge, N.Y. 
   They removed from Milford, N.Y., to the vicinity or the Chebause post office, Ill., 
where they dwelt in 1883. 
   They had one child:

             i   Ettie (8) b. about 1875.

     627.  SYLVANUS L. (7) — Robinson (6), Benjamin (5), Philip (4), Philip (3), 
Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born April 18, 1821, and married May 29, 1842, 
Phebe Ann White, who was born Ju1y 11, 1825, and who was a daughter of
Peter and Catharine White, of Hillsdale, N.Y.     
   They dwelt at Davenport, Delaware Co., N.Y., where he died Oct. 8, 1859 (1853). 
She died Feb. 23, 1852. Burial in Colliersville Cemetery,  plot C-1(Cooperstown 
Junction Cemetery) on Route 7 North of Colliersville, NY.

(3), Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born Dec. 26, 1823, and married Oct. 25, 
1842, Ruth Ann Gaines, who was born Aug. 25, 1825, died 1907, Sparta, Wis., 
and was a daughter of Ebenezer and Ann (Blakeley) Gaines, Maryland,  N.Y. 
   They were farmers, and removed to Leon, Wis., where he died Aug. 5,1861. 
Monroe Co., Wis., She married (2) William Huddleston, Monroe CO,. Wis.

Arthur (2). Arthur (1) — was born June 7, 1828, and married April 15. 1845, 
James Metcalf, who was born June 26, 1819, and who was a son or Ira and 
Sarah (Goodrich) Metcalf, of Davenport, N.Y.  He was a merchant, and they 
dwelt at Davenport five years, Toddsville, N.Y., about ten year!, Fox Lake, Wis., 
about three years, Sparta, Wis., ten years, from which place they removed to 
Adrian,  Mich. their residence in 1881.

(3), Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born July 31, 1842, and married Sarah Jane
Davis.
   He was a blacksmith, and in 1881 they dwelt in the vicinity of Morris, or

March 4, 1880, and married Emma Houghtelling, who was born May 28, 1829.  
He was a blacksmith, and during the Rebellion a member of Co. ———, 114th 
N.Y. S. Vols. They dwelt at South New Berlin.  She died Aug. 3, 1868.

N.Y., and their eldest child:

   They dwelt in Pittsfield, N.Y., and their eldest child:

Berlin, N.Y., Dec. 30,1859, Emily Isbell, who was born Feb. 18,1840. in 
Smyrna, N.Y., and who was a daughter of Elmour and Emily (Atkins) Isbell. 
   He was a locomotive engineer, and in 1879 had been in the employ of the New 
York and Erie Railroad for nine years, and was then dwelling at 50 Cedar Street, 
Buffalo, N.Y.

     649.  ANICE LODEMIA (7) — Marshall D. (6), Samuel (5), Philip (4), 
Philip (3), Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born July 2, 1843, and married Dec. 30,
1859, Seymour Isbell, who was born March 29, 1831.  
   He was a farmer, and they dwelt at South New Berlin, N.Y.

     650.  CAROLINE (7) BURR — Marcia (6), Samuel (5), Philip (4), Philip (3), 
Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born April 19, 1835, and married Sept. 8,1852, 
Alson W. Gager. 
   He was a farmer, and dwelt on the east side of the river near South New Berlin, 
N.Y.

             i   Charles Edward (8) b. Oct. 7, 1858, died when 5 days old.
             ii   Lottie Melvina (8) b. Oct. 30, 1860, m. Oct. 23, 1878, Charles Peck, 
                       and dwelt in the town of Butternuts, N. Y.

Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born Nov.22, 1838, and married November, 1858, 
Eliza Louise Brundidge.
 They dwelt at Norwich, N. Y.

24, 1855, Thomas Peeples, who was born in 1832, and who was a son of Robert 
and Mary (McConnie) Peeples, of Chester County, Pa. 
   He was a master mechanic, and they dwelt in Elizabeth, N.J., after 1869.
    They had one child:
             i   Jennie Aylsworth (8) b. Sept. 17,1861.

     654.  MARY JANE (7) — Benjamin (6), Samuel (5), Philip (4), Philip (3), 
Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born April 28, 1841, at South :New Berlin, N.Y.,
and married at Harrisburg, Pa., April 28, 1861, Jacob Meredith Crull who was a 
son of Samuel and Eliza (Meredith) Crull. *
   They dwelt in Harrisburg, where he was a baggage agent.

            ii   Ida Melissa (8) b. Jan. 27, 1865, died Jan. 8, 1867.
           iii   Minnie May (8) b. March 11, 1869, died March 19, 1872.

Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born March 14,1843, and married March 4,1862, 
George Jennings McDonald, who was born :Aug. 5, 1840, and who was a son of 
James and Nancy (Mills) McDonald. †
    He was a locomotive engineer, and was killed at Rockford, Ill., Dec. 24, 1877. 
They were childless.

13, 1871, Daniel Zortman, who was born Oct. 15, 18~4, and who was a son of 
Emanuel and Eva (Ellenburger) Zortman, the former born July 15, 1807, died June 
9, 1878, and the latter born Feb. 2, 1803, died Oct. 25, 1876. 
   He was a traveling salesman, and they dwelt in Harrisburg, Pa.

     658.  FRANCES ADELL (7) — Nelson (6), Samuel (5), Philip (4). Philip 
(3), Arthur (2), Arthur (1) — was born at South New Berlin, Feb. 2,1853, and 
married March 20, 1878, William Harrison Sawyer. 
   He was a lawyer, and in 1881, they were dwelling in New Lisbon, Otsego Co., 
N.Y. 
   They had one child, viz,: 

             i   William Nelson (8) b. Feb. 8, 1879.

      671   LUCIEN DEAN (1) — John (6), John (5), John (4), Philip (3), Arthur 
(2), Arthur (1) — was born at Pawlet, Vt., June 3, 1818, and married Jan. 1, 
1850, Maria Bird, who was born June 15, 1827, at Canton, N.Y., and who was 
a daughter of Amos and Randilla Bird.   They were farmers, 
   He was captain of Co. C., 98th Regt., N.Y. Vo1s., and served nine months, 
resigning on account of ill health.  He was in the battles of Williamsburg and Fair 
Oaks, besides several skirmishes.  His eldest son, then eleven years old, was 
drummer boy in the company. 
   Their eldest child was born at Gouverneur, N.Y., the others at Malone, N.Y. 
The family left New York and dwelt in Illinois, probably in the northern part of 
Peoria County, or in that vicinity, but removed to a farm in Township 10, 
Range 8, in Hamilton County, Neb., with post office at Grand Island.

   They dwelt in Mexico, Oswego Co. N.Y., until 1856, when they went to Illinois, 
and settled permanently in La Prairie township, Marshall Co., with post office at 
Hallock, Peoria Co. 
   He was a farmer, and died April 5, 1870.

M. Hatfield officiating, Margaret Miner Hatfield, who was born Aug. 21, 1830,
and who was a daughter of Elisha and Elizabeth (Miller) Hatfield, of White 
Plains, N.Y.  
   He was a successful merchant of Providence, to which city he went when 
seventeen years of age, and where they dwelt.

                       Jencks, of Farmingham, Mass.
