30. Hobart Family

           Originating in Hingham, Norfolk Co., England, the progenitor of this family came to Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA in 1634.  Researching this family was a difficult task due to the prolificacy of it's members and the repetitive use of given names however the descendancy as shown is most likely right.
      EDMUND HOBART, born ca. 1570 Hingham, Norfolk Co., England, died Mar. 8, 1646 Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA, married 1600 in England, Margaret Dewey.  He became freeman in 1634.

      PETER HOBART, baptized Oct. 13, 1604 Hingham, Norfolk Co., England, died Jan. 20, 1679 Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA, married (1) 1627 in England (name unknown) who died 1645.  Peter came to Charlestown, Suffolk Co., MA, Jun. 8, 1635 with his first wife and four children and later moved to Hingham.  He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge, England receiving his BA in 1625, MA in 1629 and graduated from Harvard College in 1667.  He was ordained as Pastor at Groton, MA on Nov. 25, 1679
