| No early records of this family have yet been found. The earliest ancestor appears to have resided in Tennessee. One Jesse Douglas and his wife Susanna Bevel are believed to have had: NATHANIEL LYNN DOUGLAS, born 1801 TN. died 1874 in Brushy Creek, Ellis Co., TX, married in TN 1824, Mary Goodloe, born 1807 Rutherford Co., TN, died 1886 in Brushy Creek, TX, the daughter of Henry Goodloe and Rebecca Wright (See Goodloe Family Addendum). They moved in 1848 in two ox wagons to Brushy Creek, (then Navarao Co. Nathaniel helped organize Ellis Co. and built the first Court House there in 1850 for a cost of $ 59.00. He sat on the first Grand Jury in 1850 and in 1869 was the Tax Collector and Assessor of Ellis Co. Children: Jesse, born 1825, died (shot) 1886, married (1) Ann Eliza Stewart who WARREN DOUGLAS, born 1830 Warren Co., TN, died June 1891 Gila Bend, Maricopa Co., AZ,
married Aug. 21, 1857 Brushy Creek, Ellis Co., TX, Rebecca Ann Evans, born 1836 in
Lexington, KY, died Jan. 1, 1908 Arlington, Maricopa Co., AZ. They moved in 1860 to
Buchanan Creek and then to Caddo, Stephens Co., TX and still later, probably about 1880/82
to Arlington, AZ. Rebecca had brothers named: Mathew, Mark, Luke, John & Enock. Angus, born Jul. 5, 1860, died Oct. 4, 1925, married Ella Scott and MARY SUE DOUGLAS, born Jun. 24, 1876 Caddo, Stephens Co., TX, died Nov. 4,
1963 Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ, interred Palo Verde Cemetery, Palo Verde, Maricopa Co., AZ
(near Buckeye), married Jun. 15, 1898 Tucson, Pima Co., AZ, Joel Elmer Clanton, born Dec.
23, 1873 Des Moines, Polk Co., IA, died Jul. 8, 1940 Gila Bend, Maricopa Co., AZ , the son
